Program Technology Requirements

ASCEND is an online program, so students should make sure they can access Notre Dame’s core learning tools before the program begins. Students will need a computer or tablet with a camera and microphone, a stable internet connection, and a quiet space for live small-group meetings.

Most of the software used in ASCEND is free for Notre Dame students. Before the program begins, students should make sure they can access the following tools.

Required Tools

  • University Email and NetID [link]
    • Students need to activate their NetID to access University services. If you experience problems, contact the OIT Help Desk [link].

Computer and Internet Access

  • Students should have access to a computer or tablet with a working camera and microphone.
  • Students should have a stable internet connection that supports live Zoom meetings.
  • Students should plan to join live meetings from a quiet space where they can participate with their camera and microphone when possible.
  • Students who need to purchase a personal computer or other device may visit the Hammes Notre Dame Bookstore. Depending on your affiliation, you may be eligible for discounts on computers or other technology purchases.
