Research Interests:
My research lies in the intersection of geometry, topology, and group theory. A general problem in these areas is to uncover properties of geometric spaces via the study of their symmetries and deformations. In this setting, I mainly investigate the mapping class group of a Riemann surface and its interaction with fine moduli space. More broadly, I am interested in infinite groups that can be studied using combinatorial, algebraic, and geometric methods; prominent examples are braid groups, surface groups, and free groups.
