Related Rates
Abstract: We will begin with a recap of "implicit differentiation" and how it allows us to apply the ideas of differential calculus (via the chain rule) to curves which are not explicitly given by functions. Likewise, a problem of related rates is another way in which the chain rule can be used to apply the ideas of differential calculus to more general settings. Following this discussion, we will see several examples of problems which relate rates of change.
